United States Immigration Crisis
July 11th, 2018

Temple Of The Greek Gods, in the strongest terms, condemns the separation of families at the southern United States borders. We do not consider this a political issue, but rather, a crime against humanity.

Hate
July 11th, 2018

Unfortunately, our nation has seen a rise in hate group activity, even in white nationalists now openly running for public office. It should go without saying, but Temple Of The Greek Gods does not accept anyone in its ranks who supports hatred or prejudice in any form. Hate has no home or place in our organization. We condemn, in the strongest terms, the actions of all hate groups, and all branches or officials of government who either support said actions, or turn a blind eye to them.

Modern Normalization of Pedophilia
August 1st, 2018

There has been a recent rise in people trying to normalize pedophilia, and even associate it with the LGBT movement, even though the LGBT community has explicitly rebuked them. There have even been public speakers making the argument that such disgusting behavior against children is somehow natural and acceptable. Our temple condemns, in the strongest terms, any form of pedophilia. We fully support the LGBT community and recognize that there is a distinct difference between consensual adult sex and child rape or molestation. We hold the view that pedophilia cannot be called an orientation anymore than rape or sexual assault can be called an orientation. These are crimes, as well as physical and mental harm toward innocent human beings, and is therefore a form of predation, not sexuality. We call on all Pagan organizations to stand with us.

Humanitariansim
July 17th, 2019

Temple Of The Greek Gods has always prided itself on its humanitarian stance. We believe that the Maxims of Delphi, as well as simple human decency, are more than clear on how we are to treat other human beings and suppliants. Our temple therefore opposes any crimes against humanity or inhumane treatment rendered against human beings, this includes the current border crisis in the United States and its insufficient, cruel, destructive and sometimes fatal detention centers. We stand against these facilities and their treatment of humanity, regardless of who they are operated by, or which political party supports them. We hold the view that no human is less human than another, no matter their race, religion, gender, orientation, or country of origin, and is therefore entitled to equally humane treatment.

Human Liberty
August 26th, 2019

Temple Of The Greek Gods believes that every human on the planet has the inherent right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and the equal protection and privileges of the laws where they may reside.

Indigenous Peoples
August 26th, 2019

Our temple holds the view that all indigenous peoples of the world have an inherent human right to a significant portion of their lands and the freedom to practice their traditional religions, free from the threat of persecution, either from government or civilian organizations.

Supreme Court Worker Rights (LGBT)
October 4th, 2019

On October 8th, the Supreme Court of the United States will begin hearing arguments on whether or not Title VII of The Civil Rights Act protects LGBT citizens from being fired from their jobs because of their orientation. We stand in support of the LGBT community and their equal right to fair and opportunistic employment in America. Our founding documents are dedicated to the idea that all people are created equal, that no American has less rights than another. To be fired from your job over something that has nothing to do with your work performance, is completely unacceptable.

Columbus Day
October 14th, 2019

Our temple hereby recognizes October 14th as Indigenous Peoples Day, and rebukes the murder, torture, and subjugation that was brought upon the Native American people by the Christian establishments of 1492 - Present date.

Black Lives Matter
May 26th, 2020

The abuse of African American citizens and the violation of their civil and constitutional rights at the hands of police, or at the hands of anyone, is unacceptable and illegal. The racism that continues to infect our legal system must be rooted out forever.

Religious Persecution in China
August 12th, 2020

Temple of the Greek Gods supports religious freedom for everyone, with a focus on indigenous religions, since they have faced, by far, the most persecution. And so, it's very distressful to hear the forced atheism that the communist government of China has been pushing against its Buddhist community. Thus far, 800 Buddhist statues have been demolished to remove religion from the public eye, and temples are in no less danger. The government has also been running prisons and concentration camps for those who practice their religion in public. If Hellenists were openly practicing in China, they would be treated no different, or perhaps worse. There has been severe verbal backlash from the international communities but to no avail. The problem is that China, like Saudi Arabia, has a niche in the world economy, and so they are allowed to do whatever they want. However, it doesn't have to be that way. We encourage everyone to contact their representatives and voice their opposition, and we call on the free nations of the world to stand up to the organized terrorism the Chinese government has been carrying out.

The Laurel Has No Place In A Hate Group
September 30th, 2020

Our temple, over the years, has gravely lamented at the rise of hate groups in America, and it takes specific offense to us when they use ancient Greek symbols as a prop for their deplorable messages. Such has been the case recently with a neo-fascist hate group known as the "Proud Boys," who have adopted the laurel crown as a central image of their uniforms. There may have been a time in our country when such a thing would have gone unnoticed, but with the strong rise in hate group activity over the last few years and the guilt by association mentality that many people have, we feel it's important to announce the true meaning of the laurel.

The laurel represents everything that hate groups are against: Individuality, diversity, universalism, and freedom of mind, body and spirit for all mankind, not conformity, fascism, and dictatorship. While no nation or culture of the world has ever been perfect, the ancient Greeks loved life and found the world a delightful place in which to live. They devoted their lives to their Gods, the liberal arts, and the perfection of free and democratic government.

Invasion of Ukraine

May 3rd, 2022

Our temple condemns, in the strongest terms, the unprovoked Russian invasion of Ukraine as a crime against humanity.

Humanitarianism

June 22nd, 2022

Our temple officially declares to all governments that food, water, shelter, clothing, medicine and education are human rights, regardless of one's financial status.

Florida's Anti-LGBT and Fascist Legislature

May 24th 2023

Our temple recognizes all human beings as worthy and equally-righted. We therefore condemn in the strongest terms Governor DeSantis and the Floridian Congress' attempt to not only forcibly remove LGBT Americans from their land, but to harass and destroy businesses and individuals who speak out against DeSantis and the Legislature. We furthermore call on Washington DC to use its authority to protect American citizens in that State.

Uganda's Anti-Gay Law

May 30th, 2023

Uganda's persecution of their LGBTQ citizens is a crime against humanity, and all free nations of the world should not fund a government who might then be in a position to further persecute innocent people.
